IES Publishes New G-1, Guide for Security Lighting Guidelines for People, Property and Critical Infr

In December 2016, the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) published the new Guide for Security Lighting Guidelines for People, Property and Critical Infrastructure , G-1. The previous version of this document was released in 2003.

This updated document gives recommended light and uniformity levels for areas where security is an issue. Such specific applications included are:

  • Storage yards
  • ATMs
  • Parking lots and garages
  • Public Parks
  • Retail Stores
  • Restaurants
  • Convenience Stores
  • Residences
  • Hotels and Motels
  • Car Lots
  • Sporting Events
  • Bars and Clubs
